It looks like recent rumors suggesting that Brazilian Kindle Store would open in June were a little optimistic. Brasil Econômico is reporting that they have their hands on an internal planning doc for the retail giant, and it says that Amazon won’t open a local site until 1 September.
I wonder if they’re having trouble translating into Brazilian? (hint: there is no such language)Amazon is said to be looking for a distribution center in São Paulo, which they would use as the basis for entry into the retail market. According to the source, Amazon will start with a limited selection of merchandise, including CDs, DVDs, books, video games and software. They won’t be selling large items like TVs at first.
